CD31 (PECAM1)

CD31 has various functions including cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration, and cellular immunity. CD31 is ...present on tumor cells, such as those found in breast cancer and non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas, and plays a role in facilitating the invasion of these tumor cells. The expression of CD31 is greatly elevated on the outer layer of endothelial cells and commonly used to assess the density of vessels in cancerous tissue. CD31 was utilized as a predictor to assess the outlook of patients with nasopharyngeal cancer.
